Defense Department Delivers 1,000 Tons of Aid to Palestinian Civilians

The DOD has worked with USAID on deliveries to Gaza pier after it was repaired and reopened after high sea damage.

The Department of Defense (DoD) announced that it delivered over 1,000 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians last week after the temporary pier in Gaza was reopened.

The pier was reopened after repairs on June 7, then was closed again from June 8-10 due to high sea weather. The Defense Department is working closely with the U.S. Agency for International Development to ensure that food, water, and other human necessities are received by those affected by the ongoing violence in Gaza.

Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said, “We’re working hand-in-glove with USAID, who has been a great partner in calling together different nations, different NGOs [nongovernmental organizations] to donate aid to a population that desperately needs it.”

She continued, “We are the conduit for getting that aid to the people who need it the most, but USAID has been instrumental in making sure that we are getting those donations from other countries and NGOs, as well.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For U.S. military officials as they collaborate on the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
  • For wisdom for the defense secretary and leaders in the Pentagon as they send aid to the Palestinian people.
  • For USAID personnel as they seek to ensure the donations reach those who need it most.
